What's it all about?

Rob Bell has been a name that I have heard for quite some time now. Some people think his teaching is the best thing since sliced bread, others are concerned that he has lost his gospel moorings. Certainly, the little I have heard of would point to the latter being true. However, I have not yet read anything he has written.

I know, I know, when someone is being spoken of so much and making such an impression it is important to read their books and know where they are coming from. Yet, so far the immediate had pushed that particular task  down the priority list.

That is, until yesterday. I was reminded that Rob Bell is coming to Swansea on March 16th to speak and has been invited by a local evangelical church. Suddenly, this man and his teaching is on our doorstep and many are taken up with it. This brings it all a bit closer to home, so this morning I ordered 2 Rob Bell books and intend to read them in the next few weeks. If I can keep the discipline, I'll try and blog through them.
